A Report From Manila
The main concepts of the Innovative Thinking System were discussed at the Ballroom of Taal Vista Hotel, Tagaytay City, Philippines for the Philippine Society for Training and Development on May 27, 2010.
The presentation was led by guest speakers from Business Consultants (BCON), Inc. and was made possible through the sponsorship of ACG Human Capital Solutions, Corp. which is headed by President and CEO Gem Brion Zabala. She was assisted during the event by ACG Consultants Jorge Arboleda and Moses Linsangan.
Speaking in front of an enthusiastic crowd were BCON General Manager for Asia, Mr. Yasuhiro Minatoya and Consultant in Global Relations and Licensing, Mr. Julio Cortes.
Innovative Thinking System was one of the concurrent track sessions during the PSTD National Convention. With more than 80 participants, it was the most attended among the 4 sessions. The audience was composed of HR practitioners, trainers, supervisors, managers and some vice-presidents from business, government and non-government organizations.
The presentation was an overview of ITS™, Innovation, and the various tools the system offers. A large part of the session was dedicated to applications and the advantages of ITS™ in various organizations. Mr. Minatoya began the session and explained how the human brain worked. Mr. Cortes explained the system as well as its tools, making the topic more concrete.
One of the highlights during the session was the Fish Drawing activity. It was here that the participants saw the differences in thinking between people. The audience was also fascinated with the data presented on the number of new ideas that could be generated using the Innovative Thinking System.
ACG set-up a booth near the session area of the Convention in order to have continuous contact with delegates throughout the event. The booth had an ongoing slide presentation on Innovative Thinking. Leaflets which introduced Innovative Thinking System and the LIFO Method Programs were also distributed by ACG Consultants throughout the event. More than a hundred and twenty delegates provided their contact information to signify their interest in ITS.
Later that day, ACG and BCON held a Round Table Discussion on Innovative Thinking System to key people of 4 organizations. The attendees were Presidents and HR Heads from the following: I-Concerto (BPO), AcePod (Consulting), ITD Consulting Group, and Mapua Institute of Technology (Education). It was held at the Conference Room of the Somerset Millennium Hotel.
One of the highlights of the visit was the presence of ACG and BCon at the Filipino Fiesta night at the Taal Vista Hotel where both Mr. Minatoya and Mr. Julio Cortes joined the local dance of ‘Tinikling’.
During the next two days, ACG and BCON set-off for client visits to introduce the Innovative Thinking System. Some were existing clients and some were prospects of ACG. They were: Honda Cars, Honda Parts, SM Advantage (Credit Points Card System and Owner of the Largest Malls in the Philippines), J-Sys (Japanese IT provider) and Verizon Business (BPO). Mr. Minatoya, Mr. Cortes, Ms. Zabala and Mr. Linsangan (ACG) met with the Presidents as well other key people of these organizations.
So far there have been a number of requests for more information, including an inquiry about when BCON can come back to do a trainer certification in the next few months in the Philippines.
